Our Founder and President
As an after school consultant for several schools in the Alief School district, and also the founder of Sapphire Community Arts Center, I founded and started The Sapphire Butterflies, June 10, 2005, to help enhance children lives throughout the community and The Halos of Pearls Professional Women Social Community Sorority Organization for the professional women to launch their business in a sisterhood environment. I’ve not only made changes in young girls’ lives but, I'm also working hard to make a difference in the lives of the hard working women.
“GOD has given me the vision to start an organization to help children understand there are great things they can offer the world and the people around them. I want every child I come in contact with to know that the world is YOUR stage to be whatever you want to be but, allow them to know that nothing is free.”
Children can be so cruel and mean towards each other and can cause a negative attitude to emerge. This can cause bullying, fighting, shyness, and a child to become withdrawn.
The Sapphire Butterflies Organization offers a haven where all youth and even the teens can have an outlet to express any other negative issues they are dealing with in their lives. Because society can be so quickly to judge children without knowing what problems or negative issues that may be clouding their lives, the Sapphire Butterflies Organization work towards offering a positive outlook where each child can express themselves in the Arts.
“I’m also currently working on starting a school for the at-risk youth in the arts. The name of the school will be called Sapphire International School of Performing Arts and hopefully, GOD’s will; it will be opening in the fall of 2013.”
“Children can be very creative when they are directed by positive influence, love, and direction. As the founder of The Sapphire Butterflies, we are here to offer GODLY and christian direction, an opportunity for each child and teen to be creative in the arts and hope for an awarding future some of these children seek to find.”
